Ken is extreme left middle row Album title: Ken Lascelles Wartime Photos

These two watime Collingwood class photos were sent in by Dave Lascelles, Kens brother. Ken has crossed the bar. The following is from Dave's email to me:- Thanks for the email reply. Brian. I found these two photos of HMS Collingwood. The other photos are all of the "shipmates" type, I believe they were taken in Alexandria,& Malta etc. I'm sorry that I don't have a lot of details, I know he was on the Malta convoys, and we have an 'HMS Javelin' Christmas card, dated from October 1942 (post early! etc). He was with the flagship (HMS Nelson) late in the war, - don't know how long, but I understand that it was when they took the Jap surrender at Penang and Singapore. Sorry, but I have mislaid (but not LOST) his service number, which I'll send in when I discover it again - should help to establish his dates at Collingwood (?). Hope these are of interest. Best Regards, Dave.

Album title: The Famous Ship Inn (Ted's Bar)

Another really enjoyable reunion, not so many of us but (as always) very friendly. Two highlights: first the surprise attendance by Joe and Rachel (the commando girls) and secondly the wreath laying at Torquay cenotaph by Derek Moore. This was the first time we were together on Remembrance Sunday and we attended the ceremony together as a unit. Finally we were pleased to be joined by members of the HMS Eskimo Association.

Doug and Pam Newell before service Album title: Standard Bearer

Doug Newell retired as Standard Bearer earlier this year; however, he attended the November 2007 reunion at Bournemouth and was persuaded to carry the Standard again for our Remembrance service so that we could record the event for all to see. At the service the Reverend Taylor said: 'this is the last time Doug Newell will carry the Standard and we should thank him for his years of service. We should also remember that Doug has represented the association, not only at our reunions, but also at many ex-service ceremonial events around the country.' I would like to add that Doug has always been smartly turned out and has carried our Standard with great dignity as the following pictures illustrate. - Brian Cox, 05/11/07
